Can a vintage mechanical watch be reliable?
Absolutely! As long as it's in good order and properly serviced a vintage watch can be just as reliable and accurate as any modern movement. Our services include complete disassembly of your watch and movement. All parts are ultrasonically cleaned, rinsed, dried and inspected. Worn parts are assessed for repair or reuse. Tarnished reusable parts will be manually cleaned and polished, or replaced if requested.
All jewels and pivots will be manually cleaned and pivots, inner barrel, cap and arbor will be polished as necessary. New mainspring will be installed during service to ensure reliability and your watch will be correctly lubricated with fresh Swiss oils when reassembled.
All our watches are tested and regulated in several positions to ensure a good level of accuracy.
Our restorations aim to preserve your watch to a standard you are most happy with. We can preserve original patina on parts, or refinish, repaint hands and dials or replace as per customer's wishes.
